Here is Lake Vista galley kitchen when we started the remodel. Large family wanted to open up the kitchen and replace the existing electric range with a gas cooktop, relocate the fridge to the area of an unused desk in the kitchen, install a double oven where the fridge was. Also, the home owners wanted to remove the soffit above the existing cooking area and over the windows/sink area to open the kitchen as much as possible.
Here is the end result. We removed the soffit over the cook area, ran a gas line for the new gas cook top, relocated electric to area where fridge was to allow for install of new double oven in the custom cabinet we built. We also reworked the sink cabinet to accommodate the new farmers sink and built a custom cabinet under the new gas cooktop that has 2 large drawers for pots and pans storage. Granite, backsplash and new paint on the cabinets and walls complete the remodel. Total remodel time was 35 days with the family of 6 living in the house.
Here is a better view of the new double oven installed in the custom cabinet we built, as well as the functional vent-a-hood over the new 5 burner gas cooktop. Also, you can see the copper kitchen sink faucet and matching copper pendant light over the sink.
Here is what the sink are looked like before. Soffit over the window and cabinets on each side of the window made the kitchen really cramped. Also, over mount sink and formica counter tops were very outdated.
Here is where we move the fridge to. We removed this unused desk to allow room for the new counter depth fridge. Luckily the home owner had flooring material so I could patch the floor where the desk was removed.
Here is a view of the fridge in it's new location. I also built a wider over fridge cabinet and extended the soffit to match the width of the new fridge.
